How to find us

Stornoway is located in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland and although it may seem to be a long way from everywhere it is actually relatively easy to get here!

By air

The modern terminal at Stornoway airport is served by direct flights from the mainland (all less than about an hour’s duration) from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness.  Flights are by Flybe (operated by Loganair) and Eastern Airways.

By Sea

Caledonian MacBrayne operates a fleet of modern ferries throughout the Hebrides. The MV Loch Seaforth sails at least twice daily in each direction between Ullapool and Stornoway (one each-way crossing on Sundays). The ship was constructed in 2014, has a capacity of 143 cars and carries up to 700 passengers.

Directions to Bayview Cottage

from Airport….leave airport and head into Stornoway. Turn Left after approximately a mile to the village of Tolm(Holm) as you pass the 40 mph speed signs. Drive into Holm village, turning left before last house. Drive 50 metres and turn right into access road to Cottage; Our house is at the top of the road.

from Ferry…….leave ferry terminal , turning left at first T junction. Turn right at next mini roundabout, continue straight through two roundabouts driving towards airport. After some two miles, at Parkend turn right at derestriction signs to Tolm(Holm). Drive into Holm village, turning left before last house. Drive 50 metres and turn right into access road to Cottage; Our house is at the top of the road.

Directions to 23 Francis St.

From Airport… drive into Stornoway, pass Caladh Hotel and in 100 metres turn right up Lewis St. Pass Garden road on your right, 20metres entrance to flat carpark, You will see the rear of this Victorian townhouse with steps up to the apartment door.

From Ferry..leave ferry terminal ,turning left at first T junction. Turn right at next mini roundabout. Pass Keith Street on your left, and turn left at next junction into Lewis Street, Pass Garden Rd on your right, 20 metres entrance to flat carpark
